European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Relacom, which supplies network services, will lay off 1000 employees with the closure of divisions in Kalmar, Växjö, Blekinge, Skåne, Halland and Västra Götaland. There will also be redundancies in Jönköping. The reason for the dismissals is that Relacom has lost 30-40% of their orders to their competitor Telia. This process began in Spring 2009, and as of Octber 2009 the dismissals are enacted. The employees will leave the company during this year.
