Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
CNH, which manufactures agricultural machineries, is about to cut 450 temporary jobs at its plant in Zedelgem, Flanders. The company announced two waves of restructuring with the non-renewal of 200 temporary jobs in March and 250 after the summer. The company explained that this decision was the result of decreased demand due to the global economic crisis and the introduction of protectionist measures in Russia and the Ukraine, the two biggest customers of the company.
