European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The chemical company Borealis is about to close its unit located in Flanders in Beringen. The closure of the unit will concern 109 jobs. The company is facing problems of overproduction and is in financial difficulties since the decrease of the prices. The number of job losses was increased to 123 at the second notification of redundancies in October 2009.
