Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish manufacturer of lighting equipement Martin Professional announced on 17 August 2009 that 130 jobs in two factories in Frederikshavn will be shed. In February the company let 250 employees go on work sharing for maximum 26 weeks to avoid dismissals. However, this did not prevent the loss of 130 jobs. Martin Professional is based in Århus.
