On 25 August 2009, Coop Sverige, a grocery retail company in KF Group, announced it will reduce jobs at its locations in Malmö, Växjö, Luleå and Umeå by 500. The restructure affects the transhipment departments across the country and is a consequence of a reorganization, which aims to make the supply chain more efficient and environmentally friendly. Coop runs grocery retail trade in several different chains like Coop Forum, Coop Extra, Coop Konsum, Together with the retail consumer societies, Coop accounts for 21.4% of the grocery retail market for the biggest players in Sweden.
