Description
On 1 August 2009 Krajowa Spółka Cukrowa, a producer of sugar, launched a voluntary redundancy scheme, covering its units around the country. The scheme is expected to run until 30 September 2009. The company plans to reduce its present workforce of 2,100 by 570. Employees who volunteer to leave the company will receive severance payments of PLN 80,000 (in addition to the statutory payment of between one and three times their monthly salary), cash equivalents for unused holiday time, anniversary bonuses, reimbursement of training costs, and subsidies towards setting up their own businesses.
