Description

Car manufacturer Jaguar has announced it is to cut up to 300 jobs at its Halewood plant in the UK. The job losses are related to the company's plans to end production of its x-type model at the plant. Other measures being taken by the company to save money include a three week shutdown. The company's sales fell by 28% in the last 10 months.  No date was offered for when the job losses would take place.

The government has stepped in to offer a grant of £27 million towards low carbon land rovers to secure the future of production at Halewood.
