European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Siemens Kolejová vozidla, the leading manufacturer of rail vehicles, has confirmed the closure of the Prague site resulting in 1,000 job cuts after parent company Siemens failed to find a buyer or potential investor. The company started the restructuring in 2008 and did not find a potential investor (see fact sheet No 11517). Redundant workers will be given severance pay amounting to 16 average wages.
