Northwest Airlines, a subsidiary of American Delta Air Lines, is to axe 2,500 jobs out of approximately 30,000 worldwide due to increasing fuel price. Job losses will mainly affect operating personnel and the management. At the first stage, the company will apply the policy of voluntary redundancy and contracts ending and not being replaced. There is no exact date at which the job cuts will start and be completed.
