Description
PKS, the bus carrier based in Nowy Sącz, is planning to cut its 350-strong workforce by approximately 80 before the end of 2009. These redundancies will extend to drivers - predominantly those who are already eligible for pre-retirement benefits or outright retirement. PKS Nowy Sącz operates a fleet of 130 buses serving 82 routes, travelling 950 connections every day. The planned redundancies are part of a restructuring programme which, it is hoped, can stave off the company's bankruptcy.
