Description

Freudenberg Simmeringe Kft., a Hungarian manufacturer of sealants, has confirmed the lay-off of 100 workers from the company's 460-strong workforce. The decision is a consequence of the global economic crisis. The majority of redundancies were temporary agency workers, but the company also had to send away some of its own employees.

The Hungarian production facility, based in Kecskemét (Bács-Kiskun county), is part of the Freudenberg Group, which belongs to Freudenberg & Co. with headquarters in Weinheim an der Bergstrasse (Germany). The group is a family owned enterprise established originally in 1849 by Carl Johan Frendenberg. The group itself has a wide variety of products which includes well-known trade marks like Vileda.
