Description

The JBB meat plant in Łyse, in the Mazowsze region of central Poland, has dismissed 1500 workers after it suffered complete destruction during a fire on 29 June. Until the facility can be rebuilt, its 1,500 employees face the prospect of joblessness. Employees will be paid through 10 July 2009. After the plant has been rebuilt, some of its staff will be hired again; also, some workers will be hired to help in the rebuilding work.
