Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Interbanca, a commercial bank which assists medium sized companies, is to cut 144 jobs in Italy by the end of 2009. The job-cuts are included in a reorganisation plan announced by the company in June 2009. The trade unions have announced some industrial action over the next few months.
Interbanca belongs to the GE Capital. General Electric (GE) is a global infrastructure, finance and media company. It currently employs 285 workers in Italy.
