Description
Forensic Science Services, a government-owned company, is to close its Chepstow laboratory in south Wales with the loss of 170 jobs. The laboratory is analysing evidence from crime scenes and the closure is blamed on low demand for these services by police customers. The company stated that they wanted to improve efficiency in light of an emerging forensic market. The service plans to restructure its nationwide operations around specific scientific areas rather than geographic regions.
