Queen's University has announced plans to cut 103 jobs in order to cut costs and to increase the University's chance to compete with the world's top universities. The cuts are more likely to affect teaching staff who are not involved in research. Although compulsory redundancies are not ruled out, the job losses will also be implemented through voluntary means and early retirement. As of 28 June 2009, no date has been given for the implementation of the cuts.
