The University of Leeds has announced plans to cut 100 jobs. 60 of these jobs will be cut from the Faculty of Biological Sciences and 40 from the school of healthcare. The job losses were blamed on cuts in funding. The University is working with the unions in order to implement the redundancies through natural wastage, early retirement, redemployment and voluntary severance. As of 28 June 2009, no date has been given for the implementation of the job losses.
