European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Contour, a manufacturer of aircraft seats, is to cut up to 244 jobs from its Cwmbran and Torfaen plants in Wales by the end of 2010. The announced redundancies are part of wider cost-cutting initiatives aimed at securing the firms's competitiveness. The company stated that a consultation period would follow as an attempt to mitigate as much of the impact on staff as possible.
