Yorkshire Bank is to cut 122 jobs across its branches in Yorkshire and the Midlands. The cuts were blamed on the increasing number of customers using online banking. The company said that they would assist staff to find alternative employment wherever possible, while the trade union Unite stated that they would talk to management in order to keep compulsory redundancies to a minimum. The job losses will start taking effect in October 2009.
