European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Electrolux, a producer of household appliances, has given 199 workers their notices at the Swedish factories in Mariestad and Motala. The job reductions are a result of decreasing orders and will affect 191 blue collar and 8 white collar workers.
Electrolux products include refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners and cookers sold under brands such as Electrolux, AEG-Electrolux, Eureka and Frigidaire. In 2008, Electrolux had approximately 3,000 employees in Sweden and 55,000 employees worldwide.
