Description

Sekurit, one of the leading glass manufacturers in the world, is to close its plant at Savigliano, in the province of Cuneo, with the consequent loss of 250 jobs. The trade unions reacted to the company's decision by going out on strike and demanding the involvement of the national and local authorities in order to avoid the closure of the Sekurit's plant. Sekurit is a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, one of the top 100 industrial companies in the world with over 200,000 employees in 56 countries. Saint-Gobain is active in five main sectors: flat glass, high-performance materials, construction products, building distribution and packaging.
