European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Varta Bosch, a subsidiary of Johnson Controls, has announced the closure of its site in Sarreguemines in Est France, with a consequent loss of 365 jobs. The site will be shut down in September 2009 at the latest and transformed into a distribution centre. The decision is due to a slump in demand for car batteries. The closure is a part of a restructuring plan of Johnson Controls, which foresees a closure of 10 sites worldwide.
