Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
By the end of August 2009, Actavis, the Iceland-based generic drug manufacturer, will cut 125 jobs at its factory in Dupnitsa. "The cuts are a part of streamlining plan that will help the company to increase its productivity and optimize the number of employees", Margret Barzachka, PR officer for Actavis Operations (the unit that owns and manages the group's plants in Bulgaria), told SeeNews.
Actavis employs 2800 workers in Bulgaria.
