Description

Tandberg Data, a global provider of data storage and data backup solutions headquartered in Oslo, and its subsidiary Tandberg Storage ASA filed for bankruptcy in the Norwegian courts on Friday, 24th April 2009. On 27th April the management announced that the efforts to continue operations had not succeeded, and that all 100 employees in the two companies in Norway lost their jobs. Tandberg Data subsidiaries (Tandberg Data Corporation in the US, Tandberg Data Japan, Tandberg Data Singapore, and Tandberg Data in Europe) will try to continue operations.

Tandberg Data has had problems since 2007 and underwent restructuring in 2008. The final drop was the failed attempt to repay a lapsed loan from Cyrus Capital. As of April 2009, there is no information on when the job losses will be implemented by.
