Menaje del Hogar, a company specialized in the retail of electrical appliances, planned the presentation of a Redundancy Dismissal Procedure (ERE) that will affect around 100 workers, which represents around 16% of a staff base of more than 600 workers. The company, a subsidiary of the British company Kesa Electrical, has a network of 45 stores in Spain and 21 in Portugal. According to Kesa Electrical the Spanish market continues to endure the worst commercial conditions in Europe, which has resulted in a "significant" fall in sales.
