Description
Schering-Plough, a French subsidiary of the pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough Corporation announced a restructuring plan affecting 330 jobs in France with the direct dismissals of 206 employees through voluntary redundancy measures by the end of the year.
The restructuring which follows the acquisition of the Dutch group Organon SA mainly concerns sales staff across the territory and the employees of the two Headquarters in Levallois and Puteaux, in Ile de France. 35 new jobs will also be created.
Schering-Plough employs 50.000 people around the world and the total workforce in France rises to approximately 1.900 employees as a result of the merger. In March 2009 the group underwent another merger with the pharmaceutical group Merck which could lead to further job losses world-wide.
