Description

Coindu, a manufacturer of car covers, has announced the collective dismissal of 387 workers in Vila Nova de Famalicao and Arcos de Valdevez factories. The company justified the collective dismissals with a significant loss in revenues due to the global economic crisis. According to the trade union coordinator of the Textile Association of Minho and Trás-os-Montes, the collective dismissal will affect 387 employees, 148 in Vila Nova de Famalicao factory and 239 of Arcos de Valdevez factory. The company has been operating for the last 20 years and has a third factory in Romania. Overall, it employs 1,700 workers.
