Description
Printer of the Danish news paper, Jyllands-Posten in Viby, will be closed and 107 employees will be made redundant and the printing of the newspaper will be relocated to Politiken Tryk Erritsø. Both printing companies are owned by the joint group of Jyllands-Posten and the newspaper Politiken, called JP/Politikens Hus. This was announced in the press 16 March. The reason is a general overcapacity among Danish newspaper printing companies. The plant in Viby is old and was to be phased out and all the workers - printers, metalworkers, electricians, storage employees, administrative and executive staff - will lose their jobs. The whole process is expected to end late September 2009.
