Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 3 April 2009, Thime GrafiMedia Groep, the second largest printing group in the Netherlands, announced it will cut 155 jobs in the remainder of 2009, some 10% of all employees. Background is the decline in turnover in commercial printing. There will probably be no or few forced dismissals. The loss of jobs will largely take effect by not filling vacancies.
