Description

The large abattoir, Danish Crown, announced on 27th March 2009 a second round of dismissals. In February 861 employees were made redundant in February 2009 (see factsheet). Now, two beef divisions, in Gimsing and Holstebro, will be closed down resulting in 108 job losses. Furthermore, 50 administrative jobs in the porc division will be cut. The CEO of Danish Crown has explained that the divisions are no longer cost-effective. Danish Crown has currently approximately 9,100 employees in Denmark.
