Description
Cablex is a producer of cable harnesses and other cable stationery products for household appliances and automotive industry. At the end of September 2008, the company employed 359 workers at two production locations: 287 in TržiÄ in the Gorenjska region and 72 in SemiÄ in the Jugovzhodna Slovenija region.
Since then the company has been facing severe reduction in the number of orders. As a result, the company already dismissed 98 workers (40 in TržiÄ and 58 in SemiÄ). In the next few months, the company will close down the unit in SemiÄ and thus dismiss its remaining 14 workers. In TržiÄ another 30 employees will lose their jobs. Job cuts at both locations amounts to 142 in total.
