Description

Siemens Wind Power plans to fire 400 employees at the factories in Aalborg, Brande and Engesvang. According to the management the reason is a significant downturn in the American market. Siemens Wind Power has actually expanded in Denmark. During the last year almost 100 new employees have been hired every month. The total employment before the announced redundancies was around 3,500 of which 2,800 in Brande.

As reported, Denmark has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
