Description
Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT), a newspaper publisher, is to cut 1000 jobs mainly in its regional newspapers across the UK. The cuts are blamed on a decline in advertising due to the current economic turmoil, while the company expects a substantial fall in profits in the first half of 2009. As of 23 March 2009 no date has been announced for the implementation of the job losses.
