European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The media group Vocento announced today that it has presented an ERE (Redundancy Dismissal Procedure) that involved the dismissal of 234 of the 450 employees that exist in the daily newspaper ABC. The plan would affect over 80 employees in the editorial department and over 100 jobs in the printing division of the paper in addition to administrative posts. A spokesperson for Vocento said that the management is in discussion with the trade unions and employees about the least traumatic way possible of carrying out these cuts.
