Description

On March 23rd, the Board of Norema, a subsidiary of the Swedish Nobia group, decided to close the Norwegian factory and move the production to other Nobia plants in Sweden. This decision was expected in the last Board meeting 3rd of March, but was postponed as Norwegian law required the company to have talks with the authorities before a closure decision.

The reason for closure is reduced orders and sales. The employees of Norema have had reduced working-time since 1st of January, but this measure was not enough for the owners. According to the press release the production will be stopped by end of summer. Already the production at another factory in Finland is moving to Sweden.
