Description

Computer manufacturer Dell has announced a further 230 redundancies at its Dubln and Limerick sites. This follows a recent announcement of 1,900 job cuts. The latest job cuts are to take place over the next six months. It is anticipated that there will be 130 dismissals out of its 1300 workforce at its Dublin plant (Cherrywood) which is home to Dell's sales operation for the Irish market and to the home and small/medium business sector of the UK market. The remainder of the cuts (100) will be made at its Limerick plant where the total staff number is currently 1000.

Active labour market policy measures are supported by the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
