European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mazeikiu nafta, the company specialized in oil refining, marine terminal operations and logistics refined products, is considering the possibility to reduce the number of employees by 20%. At present 2,900 people are employed in the company. According to management, the main cause for dismissal is the internal restructuring of the company. Mazeikiu nafta has already started to dismiss employees. Since the beginning of 2009 more than 40 people have to leave the company every month.
