The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Nokia, the world´s leading mobile phone maker, said it plans to cut 1,700 jobs globally in the next couple of months. The workforce reduction is part of a major cost-cutting drive and will be across a number of departments, including marketing, development and support functions. About 700 jobs will be lost in Finland. Nokia employs about 125,000 people worldwide.
