Description
The steel manufacturer, ArcelorMittal, is to make redundant 1,700 employees from its large plant in Liege, Belgium. This area contains the blast furnaces of the company. The redundancies are part of an internal restructuring plan. The company employs 4,200 employees currently, and so the workforce will be reduced to 2,800. Three hundred temporary workers are also understood to have recently been let go.
