European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
United Technologies Corporation (UTC), US-based industrial company, has announced its USD 600 million restructuring plan for 2009 that will result in global employment reduction of 11,600 (5% of its current workforce). These reductions, together with workforce reduction occurred in 2008, will represent a total 18,000 job cuts. UTC is a diversified company that provides a broad range of high technology products and support services to the building system and aerospace industry.
