European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
On 2 March 2009, the German car producer Volkswagen announced that it is to cut all 16,500 jobs for temporary agency workers worldwide. The job reduction is to be completed by the end of 2009. The job cuts are attributed to the drop in demand.
