Description
The Welsh Local Government Association has announced that 2,000 jobs are to be cut across the country by the end of 2011. 700 of these jobs are to be cut by the end of 2009 as local councils expect to overspend in other areas such as welfare advice and housing benefit applications as the UK economy goes into recession. No further data is available as to how many jobs will remain in local government in Wales.
