European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The regional newspaper Bergens Tidende has - as other newspapers - experienced reduced sales and announced at a meeting with the employees on 27th of February 2009 that 130 to 150 jobs will be cut before 2012. 65 employees have already accepted to leave the company voluntary with severance pay or early retirement. No more details on the restructuring are available at this stage. After Easter negotiations will start between the local unions and the management on how and where the remaining cuts will be done.
