Description

Fabris, a subsidiary of the Italian group ZEN , specialised in the manufacturing of motor parts, employing 372 staff in its site of Chatellerault (Vienne) is about to cut between 202 and 226 posts. The Tribunal of Commerce of Lyon had decided on 1st December 2008 to start proceedings for receivership together with a six-month period of observation. The reason for cutting jobs is uncertainty about future trading prospects for the company.

About a year ago, the Tribunal of Commerce of Lyon had sanctioned the takeover of the company by the Groupe Zen from previous owners, groupe Euralcom. Trade Unions were expecting a lower number of dismissals. An employment plan is to be implemented for the staff concerned.
