Description

Recession made Bosch Hungary reorganise production at its plant in Hatvan (Heves County) which produces spare parts for car manufacturers. The new plant reduced the number of daily shifts from 4 to 3, for which fewer employees were necessary. As a result 250 out of the total 3,050 workers of the facility were made redundant. Initially the company's production facility had hoped to outlive the crisis by not renewing the employment of 68 temporary agency workers back in October. However the escalating of the crisis, affecting the automotive industry worldwide, made the implementation of this mass redundancy scheme inevitable from 15 February 2009.In the period between the notice and the dismissal entering into force, the company helped its laid-off workers with career development services such as advising on re-training.The Hatvan plant is part of the Bosch Group with headquarters in Stuttgart (Germany), which has 13 production and distribution facilities in Hungary.
