The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Home entertainment company Chartbusters is to close 17 of its stores, which will result in 60 of its 267 staff being made redundant. The job losses are part of a survival plan. The company, which is mainly engaged in DVD rental but also provides internet services and tanning booths, has been engaged in a Commercial Court process in order to ensure its survival. During the Commercial Court hearing it emerged that the remaining 20 Chartbuster stores have a chance of operating profitably should the survival plan prove to be successful.
