On February 4th, 2009, the company announced that after several months of limited commercial activities and serious economic problems, it has been brought under the bankruptcy code. In this context the 400 employees will lose their jobs. At least 100 companies related, directly or indirectly, to Hellenic Fishfarming will be affected as well.
Hellenic Fishfarming's primary activities are the production, marketing and distribution of fish. Hellenic Fishfarming's facilities include hatchery stations, growing and fattening units as well as packaging plants. It also owns a subsidiary company in Prague, Czech Republic.
