Mattel, a toy manufacture, has announced that it is to cut 1,000 jobs (i.e. 3% of its staff worldwide) due to the global financial crisis. Mattel employs about 33,000 people in 43 countries and sells products in more than 150 nations. As of February 2009, there is no information about the exact timeline of the dismissals and the affected locations.
