European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
London Underground is to cut 1,000 jobs. The cuts will affect temporary and administrative posts including staff working in finance, IT, procurement, human resources and legal departments. The company committed to keep mandatory redundancies to a minimun whereas the unions threatened with a ballot for industrial action if compulsory redundancies were imposed. As of 29 January 2009 there is no information on when the job losses will occur.
