The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Sprint Nextel, US-based global telecommunication company, plans to cut 8,000 jobs out of 57,000 worldwide by the end of 2009 due to the global recession. The restructuring measures are aimed at cutting annual costs by USD 1.2 billion.
