European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Vilniaus Ventos puslaidininkiai, specialised in customised design and in the production of semiconductor devices, intends to dismiss 106 employees in Vilnius. At present the company employs 336 people. The main causes for dismissal are the decreased volume of contracts as well as the rise in energy prices in resources. A special prevention programme that will provide measures for the alleviation of the consequences from the job reduction is in preparation and will be revealed by 9 February, 2009.
